Triads / mini-groups
A maximum of 3–4 respondents. Highly useful for high-end respondents.
Full groups
A maximum of 6–8 respondents.
For either, we usually double-recruit per session to protect against group failure when respondents don’t turn up at the eleventh hour.
To ensure the success of groups and triads, Neotrends Research Africa has maintained a team of highly trained recruiters profiled by socio-economic strata. Class AB recruiters only recruit AB respondents; likewise, C1C2 recruiters recruit C1C2 respondents. Since recruiters and respondents share the same socio-economic background and behaviour, there is ease and understanding in recruiting the right respondents.
Our quality controls are also very rigorous. We screen respondents before they enter the venue to confirm they meet the criteria, and keep an up-to-date database of past participants to guard against repeat or professional respondents.
On the technology front, we have the capacity to stream all FGDs live so that our clients can view them in real time from the comfort of their offices.
